Today I wanted to remember Reagan's first year in school and have something to look back on in the following years.
It has definitely been an adjustment having our oldest start school. I don't think I really knew how much things would change, starting with only 3 children at home. Grace has really grown into a big sister with her younger brothers, she was always Reagan's shadow following her around everywhere and even at times repeating every word Reagan would say. It was really an adjustment for her as much as it was for me, but a good one.
Reagan has learned so much, not only with letters, numbers and words but spiritually. She has memorized a verse for every letter of the alphabet and also chapters at a time. Her class will be quoting a large portion of scripture for kindergarten graduation, she is really looking forward to 1st grade!
This past Christmas, her school put on a Christmas play and she was an angel.(picture below)

I know that this has been a wonderful year so far for her, she has grown and matured so much and we are praying daily for what God has for her in the future.

She talks a lot now about who she is going to marry... She is discovering relationships and what they mean, she knows that mommy and daddy are married and one day she hopes to be. She asked me one day what my name was before I married daddy and I told her, she then said, "What will my name be when I get married?" I said, "I don't know, it depends on who you marry" and she said, "I wonder who I will pick." Adam and I laughed at her thinking, who will she pick? I pray that it will be a strong, Christian man who loves the Lord.

We had such a wonderful time at the retreat this year. We stayed at such a beautiful place right next to the convention center so that made it nice for parking. I think it was the best retreat as of yet! Can't wait for next year.

My sweet little one is turning 4 in 10 days!

Reagan Joy Asberry was born on January 31,2005 at 6:02 AM. She weighed 6lbs 9oz and was 20 inches long.

Something special about her name is that Reagan is her daddy's middle name and Joy is her mommy's middle name.

Her first day home was February 2,2005 at 2:00 pm. She was dressed in a light purple sleeper with a matching hat and a yellow blanket. She slept in mommy and daddy's room (in her crib) until she was 11 months old.

The first time Reagan slept through the night was on April 2,2005. She laughed out loud April 27,2005.

She was sitting up alone on August 6,2005 and she was crawling on August 25,2005.

Her first step was taken on October 30,2005 to a popcicle that her daddy was holding.

Her first word was spoken while I was reading her a book that had a picture of a baby. She said "baby"!!

I guess one thing that sticks out in my memory when Reagan was a baby was that she would roll her tongue when she would get mad. It would sound like she was speaking spanish RRRRRRRRRR.

Happy Birthday my sweet Reagan. We are looking forward to many more with you!

We have now reached the milestone of 3,000 diapers changed in the last 8 months! We have reached the 3,000 mark far sooner than we ever expected. This is a night of celebration. The boys will be treated to their favorite jar of pear strawberry granola baby food. This will be followed of course by 2 more diapers to be changed. We are hoping for 5,000 before Spring and 10,000 by next winter. We will keep you posted. Merry Christmas and God bless.

Rainy day painting

Now I am not usually the type to do these things or...
maybe I just try to avoid the mess of it all, but we really enjoyed painting a picture.

I made me think of middle school when we had Fine Arts week, I entered a water color picture for a contest and won first place! I think I have the ribbon that I won and the picture packed away in one of those boxes of old memories.

Looking at these pictures of the girls painting, I know that one day, maybe not so far down the road, I will take a look at them and think of the precious memories God has allowed us to make together.

This year I have been really looking forward to Christmas. I don't know if it is the early cold weather, the thought of it being Caleb and Alexander's first Christmas or getting out my favorite Christmas tree ornaments. I think it is all of the above but I think something I am looking forward to most would be having time with Adam reflecting upon God's blessings in our family, He has been so good to us.
With the year coming to an end, I have great anticipation of what is ahead in the new year. It seems that many changes are in store not only for us but for our country, pray Christians pray the Lord is coming soon!

We have been so busy lately that I haven't posted much but we have taken some more pictures of the babies. They are getting to look more like newborns and less like premature babies. They also are getting easier to tell apart, Alexander is much more stout and Caleb seem to have less meat on him. The girls have been a big help to us and they just love the babies. This past week we got to spend some time with our families and we had such a great time. We got to see everyone in Cincinnati including Stefanie who we haven't seen in 2 years. It was great to see her. We grilled out just about every meal and all of the kids had so much fun with each other catching fireflies and running around mamaw and grandads HUGE yard. I enjoyed the girls getting to do that without worrying about them being around a busy road. I think the twins had the best time of anyone! They were spoiled by mamaw and grandad, the 4 aunts and uncle Chris. I ended up missing them by the end of the weekend! Chris and Sandy welcomed their precious baby boy Luke into the family early Wednesday morning, he was healthy and handsome.
On Wednesday we headed to Cookeville,Tn to see Adam's family. We went to church at Cornerstone Baptist where we came from when we moved to Knoxville. It was good to see pastor Kerley and everyone there that we have made lasting friendships with. It seems like everytime we drop in for a visit there we catch a special meeting going on and this time it was VBS so we were an hour late for the service but we got to hear a good portion of the lesson. We miss you Cornerstone!
On Thursday we went to Byrdstown for a birthday get together for Grace. We haven't seen everyone since Christmas so it was good to be there and visit as always. It is an adjustment coming back home to no extended family close but the Lord has given us grace to see His greater purpose in being here in Knoxville. Adam will be starting back Bible college in the fall and we are pressing toward graduation with renewed strength and vision for what God has for our family in His ministry.
Thanks for the wonderful time we had and we love you all so.

A Quick Update

The twins had their 2 month check up this past Friday and all is well. Caleb had a slight heart murmer when he was born and that is now gone away. Caleb is 8.1 pounds and 21 inches, Alexander is 8.5 pounds and 22 inches so they are very healthy. We are planning a couple of trips to visit family this coming weekend and next week, this will be the first time traveling with all 4 children and we're a bit nervous about it. It will be interresting to see how often we'll have to stop for breaks.
Grace's 2nd birthday was Sunday and we celebrated by going to McDonalds and also getting ice cream at Brusters. We'll be having parties for her at both grandparents this coming weekend so we'll get some birthday photos up soon.

We posted some new pictures of the children from this weekend. It seems like the days are just passing by so quickly. I can't believe how much the girls have grown. Reagan will be 4 in January and starting school soon. Grace is turning 2 this month and Caleb and Alexander are almost 7 weeks old. We hear our parents talk about how fast time goes by, and I'm starting to believe them. The other night, Alexander woke up crying, which woke up his brother, Caleb. Now they were both crying, which woke up Grace. Now with all the noise, we started to hear the footsteps of Reagan coming downstairs. It was 3 in the morning and the reality of having 4 children 3 years old and under had definitely set in. They didn't teach us in school how to handle this situation but we managed. Seriously, we are so excited about how the Lord has blessed and we are so thankful for our health and the health of our children. We are also very excited and praying for my brother, and siter-in-law, Chris and Sandy, who are expecting another baby boy in just weeks. We hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer. Continue to pray for us and we love you all!

The babies came home this past Saturday and we are now learning for the first time what its like to have them with us all the time. Reagan and Grace are so happy to have them here, Reagan likes to hold their hands and Grace laughs when she sees them and says babies! The first few days were overwhelming thinking about having 4 kids at once, 3 in diapers, but, now we are learning a routine for the day. We have been behind on posting and we have alot of pictures for you all to see of recent days and some from weeks ago. Reagan and Grace got their hair cut and it was Grace's first haircut, she sat on the stool like such a big girl I can't believe how much she has grown in the past month. On Friday, April 25th we had new arrivals come into our family. Caleb Adam and Alexander Samuel Asberry, they weighed 4.0lbs 17 in and 4.5lbs 18in. It all happened so fast, the pregnancy and labor I just can't believe they are here. It has been a long week for us with the babies still in the hospital and being at home recovering while going back and forth to the hospital. The Lord has seen us through it all and he has blessed us through other Christians and our families abundantly above what we thought possible. Thank you all for your prayers, phone calls and meals provided, we greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness. We are praying to have the boys here with us at home in another week, they are getting stronger everyday and learning to eat by mouth this week. Keep us in your prayers and we will post again soon. We love you!

Last night Reagan's Sunday school class sang for the Bible Conference. She had been practicing for a couple weeks now and it was the first time singing in front of church. I don't think she knew what to expect, she got in there and was looking at everything! She was so excited when she got home from church and we all watched the recording of it about 10 times before her and Grace went to bed and guess what she wanted to do first thing this morning. It feels alittle like Spring!

The weather down here was going back and forth from cold to warm, sunny and snowy these past few weeks, but I think spring has now arrived. We have been able to get some much needed outside time with the girls yesterday and today. We took them to the park on Tuesday afternoon but I am sad to report that the first park trip of the spring was not captured on camera. On Wednesday it was alittle warmer so we spend most of the day in the yard and that is where most of these pictures were taken. I think we all are very excited about spring arriving so we can get out of our hybernation and get some fresh air. It also puts a new perspective on the things I need to get done around the house before the babies arrive. HELP! Adam is starting second shift the week after next and the next doctors visit for me is on the 18th. The last ultrasound was on this past Monday and everything looks great. The boys are about 3 lbs each and the first baby is turned head down! The Lord is faithful in answering our prayers. Thanks for stopping by, we love you.

Time to Catch Up!

February proved to be a busy month for us. We have had doctors appointments, Faith for the Family couples retreat, buying a van, and visits with family that has kept us busy.
Our new van!
We were able to get a new van this month and it is wonderful. The Lord blessed us with a Nissan Quest 2001 and we are now ready for these boys to join the family.(Well, as ready as we can be.)
Couple's Retreat
Adam and I were given a free room and registration to the couple's retreat in Gatlinburg from our dear friends Matt and Ann. They were not able to attend and so we were blessed with the opportunity to go. We had such a wonderful time in the mountains, the drive through Pigeon Forge was worth the trip in itself. The mountains were snow-capped, the prettiest I have seen and there was snow everywhere in Gatlinburg. The next day it rained and melted it all away so we came in on the perfect day. We stayed with 2 other couples, the Williamsons and the Dewey's, and played games and had some great laughs together. The sessions were really great this year and they one session focused on child rearing with the Lamb's which was very informative and practical. The McCoy's from Georgia were speakers this year and Bro. McCoy was really great to listen to, he was full of jokes and full of personality. To give you an example on how funny he was, he mentioned in one of his sermons that he can't wait to get false teeth so he can put them in the fridge on those hot summer days and pop them in to cool his gums off! I thought, who would think to do something like that! It was pretty funny. It is so nice to get away with your spouse and learn from experienced couples how to make Christ first in your home. The focus wasn't on how you can have a perfect marriage, it was how to make Christ first in your heart so that he can make you the husband or wife that your mate needs. We hope that they continue to keep this retreat a yearly event.
Ohio Visit
The girls and I were able to spend some time in Ohio Saturday-Tuesday of the last week in February with Mamaw and Grandad. We arrived with snow on the ground to greet us and the girls loved it. There are a few pictures from the trip posted, hope you enjoy them.
Monday, March 10th is our next visit to the doctor, they will be doing an ultrasound to check on the growth progress of the babies and how much they weigh. Pray that all goes well and that they stay healthy. Thank you all for your prayers.

A Weekend Getaway

Night at Pigeon Forge
This past Thursday we were able to spend the night out at Pigeon Forge, Tn. We had such a good time, even though it was just one night we felt relaxed when we got back home. The Condo was so nice and the girls went swimming in the Jacuzzi tub, they loved it. We got some browsing done at some of the shops in town and headed to the condo, I think we could've spent a week there.
Night at Nana and Papaw's house
When we got home on Friday we decided to spend Adam's other night off in Cookeville. We had a little party for Reagan with a key lime pie(yummy) and she didn't care if it was cake or pie, just something sweet. She blew out the candles this year all by herself and she said she made a wish. It was a great to see family and to finally take advantage of Pigeon Forge being so close.
The twins are doing great so far and the next ultrasound is scheduled in the middle of February along with some blood tests. Pray that all goes well and we hope you enjoy the pictures

The source of laughter lately around our house has been a little baby stroller. Grace got a little baby and a stroller for Christmas from mamaw and last week she found out that she could fit in the stroller too. Reagan has been pushing Grace around and Grace pushes Reagan around occasionally. It has been funny seeing them in that tiny stroller so I thought you would enjoy a picture of the fun they have been having.

Back from a long break

There has been alot going on in our family these past few weeks. Our internet connection has been down since before Christmas so we haven't been able to update our page. First of all, on the 21st we found out that we are having boys! That was great news and almost surprizing to me but when I got home and told Adam he said that he knew that all along. We made our way up to Cincinnati for the Christmas weekend and had Christmas Eve with everyone at dad and moms house. The girls had agood time this Christmas. Reagan really knew what was going on this year and Grace just picked up on her excitement. After seeing everyone in Ohio (on too short of a visit) we went to Byrdstown for Christmas day. We visited Granny Grace's house and Pa and Granny Bonnie's house. We really enjoyed seeing everyone. We were really blessed this year with an abundance of presents for the girls and Adam and I got a digital camera that we have been taking full advantage of since Christmas. We should have some pictures uploaded soon so check back in!

The True Meaning of Christmas

Why do we feel so obligated to buy gifts at Christmas? At first it is fun and something you want to do,then as you go along you forget the true meaning of Christmas. I went shopping 2 days ago with Reagan and Grace and I saw so many men frantically buying jewelry for their wives and girlfriends. I thought why must we stress out about something so little as gifts and why at this time of year? Most of the time we can't think of anything to get a person because you realize.. what do they really need? The answer to that is usually nothing because they already have all they need.How blessed we are in America! As Christians we need to focus more at this time of year on the true meaning of Christmas to show the world that Christ is the reason for celebrating. Time with family should be focused on the birth of Jesus Christ and not "What did santa bring you?" How do you think Jesus feels when he is replaced with santa? I want to bring up my children knowing that Jesus was alive before he was born and that he came to die for our sins. " For unto you is born THIS DAY in the city of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord." Adam and I love the time we get to spend with family because we don't get to see them too often and we can't wait for Christmas. Share the enthusiasm for Christ this Christmas with your family and Have a merry Christmas. We love you!

The end of another semester!

Adam has completed another semester at Crown College and we couldn't be happier for him. He finished up strong with A's and B's and we celebrated when he got home yesterday. Reagan is still going without diapers at night and she knows now that diapers aren't for her anymore. When you know Reagan you know she is a determined little girl and she made up her mind to get rid of diapers and she did it! So now on to Grace with potty training. She is a smart little one too that catches on to everything Reagan does so maybe we will have progress with her soon. A Big Accomplishment

This week,since we have been back from Thanksgiving break, Reagan has been getting up at night to go potty. We are very excited for her and she is happy not to wear diapers to bed anymore. Another big accomplishment this week is that Adam has finished up all of his notebooks for the end of the semester! I guess I thought that Adam having some time off for Christmas Break would slow things up a bit but now we have Christmas parties, baking, shopping, traveling and birthdays coming up. Plenty of activities to keep us busy the next several weeks. Thanksgiving Week

We just found out right before Thanksgiving that we are going to have twins! That made Thanksgiving very interesting for us and our families. We had a great week off and enjoyed the rest and the time together. We are so thankful for all the blessings that God as giving us this year. We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and also we want to congratulate Chris and Sandy on their news of another baby Watson to arrive on July 6, 2007!

Our Trip to Cincinnati

We had a very smooth ride up to Ohio this time with the girls. They did so well in the car that we only had to stop 2 times. We were able to get to Bethel around 3:00p.m. so we had some time outside in mom and dad's great big yard. On Saturday everyone came over to mom and dad's house for Thanksgiving dinner and boy was it great! Clayton had a big 3rd birthday so we got to celebrate that also with everyone, we really enjoyed getting to be a part of his birthday because we miss out on so many. Sunday was Friend day at FBC of Bethel and Adam was able to teach the Sunday School service and he did really great, he taught about Jesus and how he is all through the Bible. Jesus is pictured all through the Old Testament in so many stories such as Noah and the ark and Joseph's life. The Lord is really using Adam and has taught us so much since we have been in Bible college. We also got to hear Shawn Drewitt at FBC of Bethel, that was such a treat! Adam had never seen him and I haven't heard him in probably 3 years. We were blessed so much in our visit and we can't wait to see everyone for Christmas.

Hey there, it has been a while. I hope everyone is doing well, we just had our church missions conference and we are trying to rest from the morning and evening services. We had some great speakers and a new realization of world missions. The girls are doing well and growing. Grace just had her 15 month checkup and she is 21 pounds and 31 inches long somewhat little compared to where Reagan was at that age but she is catching up. We are going on a trip to Cincinnati next weekend for Ministry weekend and most important to see family that we miss bunches. Talk to you soon!

Is it finally fall?

I haven't updated in a few days so here is what is happening recently with our family. Adam has been trucking right along with school, midterms went really well and at the same time very stressful. I have been feeling pretty sick to my stomach lately but I guess that is to be expected while I am expecting. Reagan and I met my good friend Susannah and her 2 little girls and her mom at Turkey Creek today. It was one of the prettiest days out today. The trees are turning colors and it is not so hot anymore. I think fall has arrived! We had a good time out there but Reagan cried when she had to leave Ansley Beth. She kept saying when we were leaving, "I can't see her, I can't see her, where is she??" I thought that was so sweet. Thanks Susannah for the special day.

Time to catch up

Wow! I can't belive it has been a week already since I last posted. There wasn't much to write about this past week, just the normal busy routine. There has been some exciting news today and that is we are expecting baby number 3 in our family. We found out today and we are thrilled. The Lord has blessed us so much and we hope that you all will pray for us in the days ahead. Reagan is excited she keeps saying she is going to have a baby sister! We don't know what it is but I guess she just wants to keep with all girls (can you blame her?) Well, midterms are coming up this next week, I can't believe how fast this semester is going by. The time that we have here at Crown will quickly be gone. It is such a great place to be and I am thankful the Lord called us here. Nana and Pawpaw are coming to spend some time with Reagan and Grace during their time off from school so I think Adam and I will take a day trip to Gatlinburg and enjoy some time with just the two of us. What is soccer?

Today, the girls and I played outside in this beautiful weather most of the day. This was probably one of the nicest days we have had in a while. It finally feels like fall(for the time being). This morning we cleaned the house and got out some of our fall/winter clothes for the cooler weather. Reagan saw the neighbor kids playing soccer and she was determined to figure out what they were doing so when we got back home from our walk to see gretta, I showed her with her ball how to play. She didn't really understand that she couldn't touch the ball with her hands, but I am sure she will pick it up soon. It is exciting that she wants to learn more things about different sports. Grace is also interrested but she just wants to do whatever big sissy does, she is also starting to say words like cup and juice. What an exciting time with these little girls!Adam hasn't been able to contribute to the posting lately because of his very busy schedule but maybe you all will hear from him soon.

Library Day

The girls wanted to get a few books today and some new videos so I took them down to the library. We were the only ones down there for a while so they were able to go all over the childrens floor and explore all of the books. Boy was it a mess by the time we picked out a few books. We ended up with Spot books, 2duck books and a Spot movie. We also went to Brusters for some kiddie cones as a treat for being so well behaved at the library :)

The Lord's Day

We hope that everyone had a great day at church this morning. Sundays are always our favorite day of the week. Sunday is the first day of the week. The world has convinced people that Monday is the first day of the week, but the Bible clearly teaches that Sunday is the first day of the week. The Bible says that on the first day of the week, which is Sunday, they went to the tomb and the angel said, "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said" (Mathew 28:6). The Lord Jesus rose from the grave on the first day of the week, which is Sunday, proving that he is Lord over the Sabbath and Lord of the Sabbath. He was also demonstrating that Sunday is the "Lord's Day." This is why we have church on Sunday, not on Saturday. Aren't you thankful for the Lord's Day!

The weekend is my favorite time. Adam although doesn't get much of a break today, he is working all day and night. The girls and I tried out a new recipe this morning for breakfast, oatmeal pancakes and they were delicious. This morning the girls and I were doing our usual things around the house when I hear a door slam...then a terrible cry from Grace. Seems Reagan had the idea that shutting Grace in a closet would be a fun game, the problem is that Grace didn't like being in there. Her fingers got shut in the back side of the door where it henges and the middle 2 fingers swelled up immediately. I was really worried that the middle finger might be broken so I took her to the ER down the road for some X-rays and they were not so we thank the Lord for that. She has a terriblly bruised finger so she is getting some extra attention to that today from us all.

Today at church the pastor addressed a growing issue in America, homosexuality. It is so important to know the facts about this sin that is growing and growing I for one did not know how much this is being taught in the public school system. I pray that the Lord would help me to guide my children in the right way that they would know this is against God and the Bible. I am so thankful to be in a church where we can hear the whole truth, not something watered down but what the Bible clearly teaches.

We have had an interresting day. First the roofer came around 9am to look at the leak in our roof. Then we took the girls out to Turkey Creek. They love to shop so we were there until 5pm. I got my hair cut which was very necessary and we looked around at most of the shops, boy was daddy tired. Thanks daddy for the girls day out!
